Book Description
Odin's Runes The runes are not just a fortune teller’s tool, rather they are part of a system of spiritual belief older than Christianity and as complex and as beautiful as Hindu or Buddhist thinking. The runes are the sacred symbols of Teutonic mysticism, a system of wisdom that embraces reincarnation and rebirth, that holds the web of life as central and sacred, that is steeped in a magical tradition where responsibility for one’s own acts and destiny is the core of existence. When you use the runes you don’t just read the future, you participate in its creation. The Author Neil Giles is a scholar of the runic tradition and a practitioner of rune magic. For him, a childhood fascination with Odin and the gods of Asgard has become a passion for the path of Teutonic wisdom. Neil reads the runes professionally and has lectured and taught extensively on rune wisdom and magic. His book ‘Odin’s Runes’ was born from the meeting and melding of a lifetime’s work with more than two thousand years of traditional wisdom.

Book Description
Highlights the feminine origin of the runes in the context of an immersive course in rune practice. Using inquiry and original translations alongside traditional rune poems and sacred art, Wild Soul Runes invites readers to develop their own wisdom connection with the runes through practice. The book is based on the premise that all of us possess the ability to receive divine information through rune practice. Rather than telling the reader what the runes mean, author Lara Veleda Vesta shares an interactive practice for readers to discover the unique ways the runes speak to them. The book covers the history of the runes, both in myth and through the connection with Old European archaeological findings. This history offers evidence for the idea that the runes have a feminine origin, coming from the well of the Norns, the female triple giantesses who represent the fates in Norse myth. It introduces the concept of the runes as beings rather than simply an alphabet or magical tools. The purpose of Wild Soul Runes is to create a relationship with these beings through ancestral connection, personal gnosis, and ritual practice. Readers will learn how to: Make a rune altar Develop a daily ritual practice with the runes Honor the Germanic/Anglo Saxon wheel of the year Craft a rune set and rune ceremonies for divination v

Everything You Need to Know to Begin Working With Runes The human language gives us the power to create. It is possible because we can use a different combination of words to express unique meanings or ideas. Today, it is still debated how many words are in the English language, with some sources such as the Oxford English Dictionary assuming that the official number is close to 750,000. Runes are a set of alphabets, just like the alphabets that exist in the languages practiced today. They prominently feature vertical and often slanted lines. This arrangement of lines serve a purpose, and they are: 1.Parchments were an expensive commodity back then, so writing on them was not a viable option. Ink wasn't cheap, and for that reason, using it was uncommon. Therefore, runes were carved into objects and surfaces instead. 2.Since carving was used, using straight lines was much easier than curves. 3.While using straight lines, runes avoided the inclusion of horizontal strokes, as those lines could look like the natural lines of surfaces like wood, thereby removing any trace of the line itself. No one can establish with absolute certainty when the runes originated. One of the most popular theories is that it was developed by the Goths, a race of East-Germanic people. Historians also believe that runes have taken inspiration from the Latin alphabet. While this does not narrow down its time of origin, it gives a rough estimate, placing it in the 1st century BC.
